Along the way our Specialists have seen some excellent initiatives addressing health and wellbeing in many different types of organisations. The Case Studies available to download here show how by focusing on this area it has resulted in more effective and productive workplaces.
Ashley Associates
This small but successful recruitment organisation beleive that a happy and healthy team are more likely to hit targets in a competitive market. Putting the individual needs of the people of the organisation at the heart of the business has had positive results.
Claridges
Claridges is a world famous hotel situation in the heart of London since 1812. With 496 employees working in a sector that is both physically and mentally challenging, it is important that the hotel supports its staff to provide an excellent service. The hotel also recognises that retaining staff is important and how it addresses healht and wellbeing issues supports this.
Community Options
This organisation cares for people with mental health issues. Based in London, this charitable organisation has a well developed approach to staff health and wellbeing. Employing some individuals who have experienced mental health issues in the past, this has proved effective in the support of others and the good work that is achieved.
Farnborough 6th Form College
This college educating 16-19 olds has high expectation for its students. Having looked at health and wellbeing in the workplace some years earlier, the college recognised where improvements could be made and has been successful introducing these.
Greensward College
Greensward College’s whole ethos is to give people the chance to shine – through taking on responsibilities with the right level of support for that individual to grow in their role. Health and Wellbeing initiatives have been developed to ensure that staff workloads are reasonable and motivating to enable the College objectives to be met.
Kimberly-Clark
Kimberly-Clark has a global presence and is one of the world’s leading health and hygiene companies. There involvement in the pilot was to see it as an opportunity to undertake an audit of the Health and Wellbeing Service, and the possibility of benchmarking with other companies.
Marie Stopes International
With headquarters in London and clinics in 10 countries around the world, Marie Stopes has been in existance for over 85 years. The organisation was therefore very willing to take part in the third pilot of the Health and Wellbeing at Work Framework in order to get feedback on how it was meeting the new criteria and what suggestions could be made for further developments.
Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital 2006
Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital 2007 Update
Founded as Alder Hey Hospital in 1914 Royal Liverpool Children’s NHS Trust is one of the largest and busiest children’s hospitals in Europe, caring for over 200,000 children a year. The hospital were first involved in the Health and Wellbeing at Work pilot in 2006. Following this experience detailed in the first Case Study, they were visited again 18-months later and the impressive findings are detailed in the 2007 update.
Woodlands
This veterinary clinic based in Gloucestershire employes 16 people. The Clinic strives to deliver the highest standards and this has been recognised when they have won various external awards including the "Practice Made Perfect" competition. The strategy for supporting health & wellbeing is proving to be effective with staff comments indicating people feel valued and are contributing to the business moving forward.
